Student's Pass & working in Singapore.
Check the Student's Pass requirements for your institution before travelling. Work permissions depend on the institution, type of activity and your immigration status; they are not the same for every student.
Student's Pass
International students admitted to eligible full-time courses generally need a Student's Pass unless they hold an exempt immigration status. Follow ICA guidance for your institution category and complete the required application formalities.
Working while you study
Eligible full-time students with a Student's Pass at MOM-listed institutions may work up to 16 hours a week during term, or undertake qualifying course-related internships. Different conditions apply during vacations; eligibility is institution-specific.
After graduation
Once studies end and the Student's Pass expires, employment requires an appropriate work pass. An employer must apply for the relevant pass; graduation does not automatically grant permission to work in Singapore.
